This may sound silly but booking and waiting for your eyelash appointment is exciting, that feeling of looking forward to your brand-new set of lashes or infill appointment and the end result is a feel good factor. As our appointments are mobile and not within the beauty salon, preparing or allocating a convenient space, within your chosen location will be required and most importantly getting yourself ready. This is to ensure your eyelash appointment goes according to plan and the correct application time is spent applying your extensions. This not just only requires your lash techs input but also our clients and this blog will explain in brief on how you can prepare yourself for your appointment and to ensure a smooth and relaxed treatment process. Make-up freePrior to all semi-permanent eyelash treatments, it is detrimental to remove all make-up from every aspect of your face and mainly your eyes. This includes mascara, especially if it is waterproof, foundation and eye shadow including, this is according to a fresh new set with no existing lash extensions and an infill service. With an infill service, using your eyelash foam cleanser, this specifically removes everything from your lashes and the eye area and this is highly recommend. As part of your aftercare regime, your lashes should be cleansed daily to remove dirt and mechanical debris, regardless. A thorough face wash and ensuring a deep cleanse of the eyes is the key. The main reason for this is due to elements of makeup remaining on your natural lashes even if it appears to have been removed. The eyelash preparation that is carried out as part of the 15-minute prep prior to your application is to gently remove light dirt and natural sebum, which is oily secretion that is naturally produced from the sebaceous glands (this will be explained in another blog about retention, aftercare, and your eyelash extensions). It is the client's responsibility to ensure that this 5-minute regime is completed in order to contribute towards full retention of your semi-permanent lash extensions and lastly, no facial moisturising and if it is really needed then we recommend to exclude moisturising around the eye area. If this procedure is not completed this can result in a weaker bond between your eyelash extension and your natural lashes. further resulting in your extensions popping off. Designated treatment area As this is a mobile treatment service we ask clients prior to their appointment and also, sending a gentle reminder to designate a specific area to carry out your treatment service, to enable us to put up our treatment couch up or if you would prefer a designated area within your location without the beauty couch, ensuring that this is also comfortable for yourself also as well as your lash tech. We are not required to handle or move in general furniture within your treatment location. This is for insurance purposes, breakage, or injury to the lash tech. All this preparation is recommended 15 - 30 minutes prior to your lash technician arriving. This adjustment and tiny contribution will not effect your treatment service which spans from 2 -2.5 hrs depending on your chosen service. This blog is a gentle reminder that preparing for your appointment is as important as the application process. Setting aside the time and place prior to us attending your appointment is helpful. We know that life is demanding, and time tends to catch up with us in a blink. But time and money are heavily invested by clients and lash techs and these factors extend the lifespan of your eyelash extensions saving time and money. All clients are advised during their consultation process and a courtesy message prior to their eyelash appointments. LDUK hopes you have found this blog useful and informative. For further information and bookings please refer to the contact page and send us message. We aim to respond to you as soon as.

A topic that maybe we should of had a very long time ago, simply because it clarifies to all clients the most important reasons why it is detrimental and mandatory for all individuals, prior to their eyelash treatments that it is mandatory to have a skin patch test and complete a consultation form. As much as we would love for all clients to enjoy the perks of semi permanent eyelashes, there are a few circumstances that prohibit us from performing this treatment, and they are referred to as “contraindications” the reason why it is detrimental that all clients fill out a consultation form and have a patch test. This is for us to identify that it is safe to carry out the treatment and most importantly your health and safety, alongside, and to keep track of all your treatments and update of any changes to your health, which may impact or prevent treatment. Clients debating “why do we have to have a patch test” or demanding “it is ok” or even in question that semi- permanent eyelashes is a straight forward procedure, but, this is not the case ! It’s a more complicated and detailed procedure, unfortunately, this is how it is perceived on the market, especially with a majority of practitioners not following these protocols and just performing this treatment on clients. This results in misguidance of information and treatment services. “Contraindications“ are conditions or symptoms (some serious) that prohibits the treatment to go ahead. And should be fully identified by your eyelash technician, yes ! it’s a longer procedure and profits may be missed out upon, but you have to question practitioners who have full books and constantly busy “are they following the consultation process, which is apart of training and a mandatory procedure and if not what other protocols rules are being evaded.” ? All Eyelash Adhesives used by practitioners should be of the highest medically approved ingredients and manufactured in the UK or Europe that is fully compliant with EC regulations. Now, some of theses components may be of a conflict of interest to some individuals who have some “contraindications” that prohibit them from having the treatment and from us performing the treatment. Not just because of reactions to the glue but due to conditions or symptoms, which referred to below as “contraindications” but client health and safety first is of the highest priority. If eyelash treatments are carried out and contraindications are not disclosed, this not only puts the client at major risk, but, practicing technician will be held fully liable as well, as not being fully compliant and covered by their insurance policy. Also putting their own health at risk. There are allot of unqualified or unprofessional practitioner’s, flooding the market who obtain their adhesives of the black market, this can lead to servere long term damage such as blindness and breathing difficulties or long term respiratory illnesses, due to not being approved. So please be mindful, aware and careful. Just for assurances also, LashDollzUK’s adhesives are Latex free, cruelty free and vegan friendly which makes it even more safer, and compatible to those with sensitive of skin, less fumes than other strong glues, even though the bonding and strength of our glues are maximum, whilst still retaining retention. We also assist women with sensitive skins by using a super sensitive adhesive and is odourless (like our standard super strength adhesive), fume free, non irritating and still offers a good bonding retention. Below is a common list of contraindications that prohibits Eyelash treatments and not forgetting showing total respect and empathy to those who are currently unable to experience this treatment service, is an important part of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and consideration when letting clients down. Giving hope and assurance that once symptoms or condition are cured they are more than welcome to return and update their records. Also any of the conditions or symptoms outlined below should be re-assessed as to whether you are able to have eyelash extensions treatment by seeking medical consent. This is also a mandatory procedure also. All may seem invasive but it is for the best bath health and safety wise. They are as follows: • Women outside of the 3-6month gestation of their pregnancy • Rhinoplasty surgery No treatments inside of the 8 - 12 weeks duration healing period. With medical written consent. • Laser eye surgery • Botox treatments in the last 2 - 3 weeks • Hypersensitive skin • Cancer • Blepharoplasty (Eyelid surgery) within the last 6 months. • Contagious or eye infection disorders Eg. Conjunctivitis or herpes • Epilepsy • Semi-Permanent make up Eg. eyeliner (healed completely after 4 weeks) There are some situations that might need written medical clearance for the likes of chemotherapy that has taken place within the last 6 months or laser eye surgery. And we also will assess the situation to see if viable later or even once the condition/symptoms has fully cured. We hope this article is informative and gives full clarification and assurances and stresses of the importance as to why it is mandatory that all clients go through this procedure. It is safer, we can update any changes in your health records if needed, treatment records of eyelash treatments, booking in is much more efficient and most importantly you can rely on us as you are in safer hands. Please feel free to enquire about this article by
E: [email protected] Bookings - E: [email protected] It’s the dreaded time of year, only that it’s come and hit even harder. POLLEN SEASON ! Pollen season is here meaning allergies are even more peak. With having been in lockdown and not out and about, not even at the start to accept the promt of pollen season to acclimate to, but step out spontaneously without no notice for our senses to go into overdrive and react 10xs worse. Hay fever can affect individuals either in the eyes (puffy, itchy and watery) or nose and throat. Not forgetting there are many other symptoms and a long list of. We are just going to focus on the eyes as for eyelash extension wearers these 2 combinations can be a nightmare, but for the love of lashes, a big massive contraindication also, meaning you are not suppose to have them installed. Main reason being, hay fever automatically weakens the immune system, also meaning, even in normal climates, hay fever sufferers will not normally suffer from adhesive reactions, but due to the weakening of the immune system will become even more vulnerable to adhesives and possibly other eyelash products. Now, the components that normally aggravate allergic reactions is the latex, which we LashDollzUK do not use, regardless as all our adhesives are latex free, the main ingredient that causes allergic reactions. Due to the seriousness of hay fever and the forever changing allergies and reactions that risk can not be taken as we will never know which other components of the adhesive will trigger a reaction. As well as constant blowing of your noses, and that comes with watery and itchy eyes and then what ? Stinging and having to soothe the eye area so it starts clashing with the eyelash extensions and don’t forget watery eyes/tears contains salt ions (electrolytes). With constant watery eyes, this then interacts with the glue bond causing your eyes to sting so more hassles and aggravating pains. A big NO NO If you currently, have secretly not told your eyelash esthetician that you suffer from hay fever and are going through the mill at the moment, here are a few things you can do to ensure you lessen the most aggravated, most annoying allergies ever as it is a nightmare, but it will not fully protect you from hayfever and is a guide for eyelash extension wearers who are currently suffering from hay fever. It is also an Eyelash Esthetcians job also to keep an extra eye out for the symptoms and reactions of undisclosed hay fever sufferers. Hope it helps They are as follows: Cleaning of Eyelash extensions Enhance the cleansing of your eyelash extensions and brushing during the day. This will not make them fall off but will give you the biggest relief ever. Keeping them extra clean plus removing excess pollen and even more environmental pollutants. As the atmosphere is much more stagnant plus more dirt. Ewwww Eyelash aftercare cleansing foam kit A product that should be purchased by all eyelash extensions wearers and regardless if whether a short or long term wearers. Not only does it keep your extensions clean but contributes massively to extending the retention of. Silk Handkerchiefs Rather than use tissues as they also during pollen season can aggravate your senses towards dust particles, use a cotton or silk cloth instead. This is a heaven send plus will be less harsh on your nose and upper lip area from all the rubbing, sneezing, and that means less soreness. Stack up, wash at the end of the day and another tip which is one I have used in my household that cost less than £5 from any household outlet in the baby section called Napisan, this is soft on delicate skin, has been around for a few decades and completely eliminates germs from clothing plus it’s an amazing whitener. Avoid eye makeup You already have a sassy set of a eyelash Extensions, that just compliment you and the reason you have had them installed is to compliment your eyes without makeup. Less is more. So.. during this season using eye shadow or eyeliner would just aggravate your eyelids even more causing extra irritation plus build up from hay fever itself in and around the eyes. This can be even more harsher on your lashes especially when you are removing your makeup and on top of that you are already cleaning or rubbing them several times a day. So why add more stress ? Antihistamines If you are a serious hay fever sufferer, or allergen sufferer, you can get all year round shots to aid and prepare you for hay fever season, not only will it alleviate and lessen but sometimes it completely protects you from this part of the season improving your quality of life. You can also take antihistamines 3-6 months prior to hay fever season, if not you can purchase really good antihistamines such as Loratadine or Piriton, these are both available over the counter in all pharmacies. Here are just a few hints and tips in the image below, as to what you can also do to alleviate hay fever symptoms. Also best advice is to get professional confirmation from a specialist as this is basic and general advice and have a allergy test done to identify which foods also contribute to deterring and aggravating your hay fever symtons. The importance of eyelash retention and important factors that contribute to longer lasting lashes, meaning well invested and your monies worth. It makes a massive difference, a professional Eyelash Esthetician, a well satisfied client who understands the life cycle of their lashes, practices their after care regimes. From our well sourced glue that I have relied upon since practicing, and fully compliant with EC regulations, our adhesive is extremely fast setting, high strength adhesive. Is cruelty free, latex free and vegan friendly. Our source of glue is so amazing we do not and have always preferred not to use primer and lessen the amount of pressure on our clients natural lashes. This is where humidity and temperature comes in, the better the glue quality the more it can sustain and work alongside these 2 factors for example our adhesives ideal Humidity range is between 40-70% and Ideal Working Temperature 18-24 Degrees Celsius So 100% reliable. Following the lash code and rules regarding correct lash widths and lengths is what contributes to long lasting lashes and good retention, the market is submerged in lash techs applying the wrong lengths, widths and lash materials just to create a style, which if considered and practiced properly can still be achieved but with the correct stats and coordinates. For enough surface area and placement having a high quality lashes we prefer Cashmere or another name Ellipse lashes, which is oval rather than round and lays flatter on the natural lashes, a larger, wider surface area, which in turn means the extensions bonds more effectively with the natural lashes. Eyelash materials using the correct sources means paying much more for your materials. And another reason why S.P Eyelash Extensions is not a cheap trade. So prices are seemingly high. Paying under £50 for a full set should be ? As Labour also is included and this is even more. Apart from junior lash techs, who will need 3-4 years of experience getting use to the trade me this and skills. So it is always good and rest assured that your eyelash treatments are in safe hands. The Eyelash industry is currently submerged in lash techs who are not considering their clients lashes or following lash rules, are using to heavy widths and lengths of extensions to creat styles, which in end damages the clients natural lashes and to the lack of their knowledge. We here at LDUK ensure that good practice will still enable us to achieve clients desired styles whilst sticking to the correct stats and coordinates of our Clients natural lashes. So rest always assured. Client aftercare plays an important part and role, after their instal of their semi permanent lashes, regardless of the lifestyle led, whether you apply heavy make up, means extra cleansing daily, to remove not just the makeup but environmental particles ie dust, pollen and pollutant particles, literally anything that attaches itself to your natural lashes, your eyelash extensions should be treated and within the same manner, and generally on a daily basis needs to be removed from your extensions. Purchasing an eyelash cleansing kit is also important as the components in the cleanser are specifically targeted for eyelash extensions and also beneficial for natural lashes also, therefore without this no lash foam bath = poor extension health, dirty lashes and poor retention = a waste of lash techs time and clients money. LashDollzuk emphasises the importance prior and post treatment, also demonstrating to clients on ourselves, how to carry out their lash foam bath, and what to do and not to do after. This is for reassurance and giving our clients confidence that all is fine and your eyelash extensions will not fall out. Some clients do not mind just the instal, no aftercare or say just breeze through it and will use daily make up removers that contains oils, avoid or minimal cleaning of around the eye area. And then booking in for a complete removal and new instal, that’s more money and time spent on treatment services I prefer if clients follow their aftercare regimes but this is a client choice. Showing good aftercare is a sign of how much a lash tech is valued for their work and consideration by the client. At LashDollzuk we not just value our clients but our work also. Allot of time, effort, energy and passion is put into our work and we will continue to educate our clients and provide 1st class services. This is not just about how much money or clients we can do in a day but the quality of our work and that is also demonstrated by the clientele you attract. Semi permanent eyelash extensions is a high maintenance service that is not watered down to just throwing on lashes and investing in bad glue, but also a valuable trade and investment of personal care services. I hope you have found this blog informal and assuring. Any further questions or enquiries is welcomed, please feel free to contact LashDollzUK. For aftercare products and lash cleansing foams you will find here. For further enquiries, bookings and consultations follow the link to page here Now during this pandemic one of the biggest and most frustrating issues is keeping up with eyelash appointments and “how on earth am I going to survive without my lash artist.” Don’t worry this whole lockdown will be over before you know it. If we can utilise on the time effectively, do not panic and just enjoy the Time Out because we deserve it. I have curated this blog to advise my clients as I have had a few lines of enquiries and what’s the best thing for me to do ? Can I recommend and lash strips as I want to post a few selfies. As in being an eyelash consumer also and this is the first time in 10 years that i am lash extension free. My main advise would be to remove your lashes or let them fall naturally and give them some T.L.C. This is a topic that I am always having with my clients time to time not because they are damaged but because this is the first chance you can get have a lash break, so let them breathe. And this lockdown is just the perfect timing. Below is a mixture of advised given. EYELASH SERUM You do not have to go and purchase the next big thing with all these amazing extracts. All you need is castor oil, coconut oil, or even olive oil. These can be generally massaged gently onto your natural Lashes. The best time to do is first thing in the morning and at night after your daily facial routines. Always ensure your eyes are is clean prior before applying your serums or oils what ever choice of method or product. Eyelash Serums are also amazing and a magnificent time to use during lockdown period. There is less mess and hassle as you do not have to prepare anything just dip and stroke. BRUSH AND TAME Now that you are your eyelashes all to yourself, this is the perfect time to directly brush them and without your eyelash extension. Your natural eyelashes should not be tangled or growing in all different directions because placement during treatment is obsolete and correct lash isolation should leave your natural lashes growing in the right growth direction from where your natural hair is growing out from its hair follicle. Just ensure daily your are gently brushing your natural eyelashes and if applying serum or oils always ensure you do so after application. This helps to spread the serum and oils evenly and all over the eyelash hair strand. Brushing is also good for helping and taming your natural eyelash to grow in its correct direction creating even more even lashes. Resulting in a tamed healthy lash line. STRIP LASHES From natural to OTT to bold strip lashes can give you a temporary effect of eyelash extensions. Not for everyone and not everyone is use to donning this technique. Taking up around 15 minutes from preparation to application a whole new look can be created within minutes. Another amazing alternative for if you decide to remove your semi permanent lashes and maybe during lockdown you wish to apply strip lashes for selfie days to keep up with your social platforms. These can be applied easily, is less hassle, can be re used and cleansed with strip lash foam cleansers and stored safely being used up to 20 times. HYGIENE AND EYELASH CLEANSER FOAM The ultimate saviour of your Semi Permanent Eyelash Extension. This is detrimental to your the life of your Eyelash Extensions If you had a full set installed just before Covid-19 lockdown and retention is good, then this is something that should be right by your side, your side kick. Using accordingly and following your aftercare routine, this Lash cleanser foam should be used everyday to wash away the impurities your eyelash extension collects on a daily basis. With no compromising over this product this elongates the life of your lash extensions. Take heed baby ! MAGNETIC LASHES A new craze and a simplified way to wear your lash extensions. If you want to cut out the whole hassle of applying Eyelash Extensions using glue then this DIY Lash Extension System is for you. Attaching themselves to your natural Lashes compressed together with a magnetic field. Not a choice for everyone as these are not semi permanent and takes away the benefits of semi permanent wear, leaving you within lashes at night as has to be taken off. And we love that semi permanent benefits of wearing our lashes to bed, waking up with them on, less hassle of getting up and putting them back on in the morning and one of the benefits of wearing Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions is to cut out the whole make up/ mascara application and even strip lash and now magnetic lash regime. During lockdown this maybe a convenient go to without your lash tech around and a saviour for many. AFTERCARE PRODUCTS AND STRIP LASHES ARE NOW AVAILABLE ONSITE.
click here So I thought that during such stressful times I would blog on something away from Eyelash Extensions ! Yes ! There are other things to talk about apart from lashes and this is the perfect time ! Especially with the current COVID-19 crisis. LashDollzUK understands that women (and men) in general lead demanding working lives, managing families, to running a business and I totally can relate to that because I am one of those individuals. And with practice it has taken years to find that balance with work to children, developing needs physically and emotionally. Finding, establishing your passions, hobbies and sustaining your identity. And this is just for ourselves alone. So away from just indulging in regimented Beauty treatments I thought I would share a few things that you may just appreciate during these hard times. So enjoy ! Many of my clients have a hectic demanding lifestyle that without notice can sometimes creep and catch up on us and can have impacts on our health to our general daily performances. I thought I would share a few of my top go to hints and tips to help with your Work, Life and Balance if needed and where necessary. Enjoy !
2. Schedule plan your day ahead Always have your to daily to do list next to your bed and go through giving yourself a bit of more confidence and clarity of your day ahead. Take around 5 - 10 minutes. 3. DIET NO not to loose weight but with such a demanding lifestyle, ensure that you are eating healthy regular meals. According to your dietary requirements as we are all different and what your body needs and demands. I tend to find that when I do not plan my meals ahead, I’m rushing around and end up pick eating or the quickest closest thing near by. A weekly shop helps the most I swear by that, simply because once it’s at home ingredients bought you have no choice to cook and choices are limited. Encourages a regular healthy diet. Discipline and self control. And lastly let’s not forget the sweet tooth. We are sweet tooth's in my home and that also is balanced out through deserts daily and if we snack on a day we avoid deserts after meals. 4. Know your limits. Do not over exceed you daily limit and demands from work. Cover the day to day functions of your role or function within position of company or if self employed always have set days for specific To - Dos. And Boss it out. If you exceed, this is where it can get tricky and also affecting your general health. Which is something we should try to avoid. 5. Cardio and peace of mind.
Try to workout at least 2hrs a week. I only have time to squeeze in a Zumba class for an 1hr alongside, doing little workouts in and around the home when I can, spaced out during the week. During this current lockdown I have been also making it ritual to go for my 45 minute jog, just to keep my cardiovascular going and I find also it contributes to mental agility. No pressure and please do not picture it as a sprint. It’s light jogging and breathing then fitness after. Do not over exceed your limit and encouraging friends to workout alongside you is helpful as well as time-out and leisure. LashDollzUK has always ensured and will continue to ensure the health, hygiene, and safety of all our clients as well as ourselves. Whilst following and keeping ourselves up to date according to NHS England and WHO (World Health Organisation).
We will continue to practice our protocols when treating Clients ie washing of hands vigorously before, during and after, sanitising tools prior to treatment and in between clients, sanitising of surfaces and surrounding areas or if in contact with door handles, iPads screens, phones literally a practice we practice, coming I to contact with anything inside or outside the treatment Vicinity. Just for assurance we are continuously disinfecting our environment regardless. All we ask is that if you have come onto contact with anyone who has displayed any cold/flu/ covid-19 symptoms please do not book until you have fully recovered and are well enough to go about your general daily routines and daily lives. We are still fully aware in the meantime of daily factors, outside risk and will leave it to our discretions and yours, if whether to undergo or carry out treatments. for further information please follow the links/guidelines that has been advised by NHS ENGLAND (link below) www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ WHO (World Health Organisation) www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control www.ecdc.europa.eu/en We hope you find this information useful and that things will get back to normal as soon as.
