A topic that maybe we should of had a very long time ago, simply because it clarifies to all clients the most important reasons why it is detrimental and mandatory for all individuals, prior to their eyelash treatments that it is mandatory to have a skin patch test and complete a consultation form. As much as we would love for all clients to enjoy the perks of semi permanent eyelashes, there are a few circumstances that prohibit us from performing this treatment, and they are referred to as “contraindications” the reason why it is detrimental that all clients fill out a consultation form and have a patch test. This is for us to identify that it is safe to carry out the treatment and most importantly your health and safety, alongside, and to keep track of all your treatments and update of any changes to your health, which may impact or prevent treatment. Clients debating “why do we have to have a patch test” or demanding “it is ok” or even in question that semi- permanent eyelashes is a straight forward procedure, but, this is not the case ! It’s a more complicated and detailed procedure, unfortunately, this is how it is perceived on the market, especially with a majority of practitioners not following these protocols and just performing this treatment on clients. This results in misguidance of information and treatment services. “Contraindications“ are conditions or symptoms (some serious) that prohibits the treatment to go ahead. And should be fully identified by your eyelash technician, yes ! it’s a longer procedure and profits may be missed out upon, but you have to question practitioners who have full books and constantly busy “are they following the consultation process, which is apart of training and a mandatory procedure and if not what other protocols rules are being evaded.” ? All Eyelash Adhesives used by practitioners should be of the highest medically approved ingredients and manufactured in the UK or Europe that is fully compliant with EC regulations. Now, some of theses components may be of a conflict of interest to some individuals who have some “contraindications” that prohibit them from having the treatment and from us performing the treatment. Not just because of reactions to the glue but due to conditions or symptoms, which referred to below as “contraindications” but client health and safety first is of the highest priority. If eyelash treatments are carried out and contraindications are not disclosed, this not only puts the client at major risk, but, practicing technician will be held fully liable as well, as not being fully compliant and covered by their insurance policy. Also putting their own health at risk. There are allot of unqualified or unprofessional practitioner’s, flooding the market who obtain their adhesives of the black market, this can lead to servere long term damage such as blindness and breathing difficulties or long term respiratory illnesses, due to not being approved. So please be mindful, aware and careful. Just for assurances also, LashDollzUK’s adhesives are Latex free, cruelty free and vegan friendly which makes it even more safer, and compatible to those with sensitive of skin, less fumes than other strong glues, even though the bonding and strength of our glues are maximum, whilst still retaining retention. We also assist women with sensitive skins by using a super sensitive adhesive and is odourless (like our standard super strength adhesive), fume free, non irritating and still offers a good bonding retention. Below is a common list of contraindications that prohibits Eyelash treatments and not forgetting showing total respect and empathy to those who are currently unable to experience this treatment service, is an important part of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and consideration when letting clients down. Giving hope and assurance that once symptoms or condition are cured they are more than welcome to return and update their records. Also any of the conditions or symptoms outlined below should be re-assessed as to whether you are able to have eyelash extensions treatment by seeking medical consent. This is also a mandatory procedure also. All may seem invasive but it is for the best bath health and safety wise. They are as follows: • Women outside of the 3-6month gestation of their pregnancy • Rhinoplasty surgery No treatments inside of the 8 - 12 weeks duration healing period. With medical written consent. • Laser eye surgery • Botox treatments in the last 2 - 3 weeks • Hypersensitive skin • Cancer • Blepharoplasty (Eyelid surgery) within the last 6 months. • Contagious or eye infection disorders Eg. Conjunctivitis or herpes • Epilepsy • Semi-Permanent make up Eg. eyeliner (healed completely after 4 weeks) There are some situations that might need written medical clearance for the likes of chemotherapy that has taken place within the last 6 months or laser eye surgery. And we also will assess the situation to see if viable later or even once the condition/symptoms has fully cured. We hope this article is informative and gives full clarification and assurances and stresses of the importance as to why it is mandatory that all clients go through this procedure. It is safer, we can update any changes in your health records if needed, treatment records of eyelash treatments, booking in is much more efficient and most importantly you can rely on us as you are in safer hands. Please feel free to enquire about this article by
